Description
This program that focuses on the design of educational services for children or adults with dyslexia which adversely affects their educational performance. The course sequence will prepare individuals to teach such students and includes instruction in identifying students with dyslexia, developing individual education plans as needed, teaching and supervising students with dyslexia, counseling, and applicable laws and policies. Georgia Senate Bill 48 mandates that educator preparation programs teach candidates about Dyslexia, the identification of dyslexia and support for students in pre-kindergarten through second grade. The Georgia Professional Standards Commission granted approval for this endorsement program in July 2020.

- GACE Ethics Test 380 for Leadership candidate
- GPA Requirement
- Option 1: Applicants who have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 from a regionally accredited university may be considered for admission to College of Education graduate programs.
- Option 2: Applicants who have completed an undergraduate degree with an overall GPA between 2.5 and 2.74 from a regionally accredited university and hold 3 successful years of teaching experience, as documented by a letter from the current employer, may be considered for admission to a College of Education graduate program.
